Steam Implementing Share Function Between Friends?

Steam Implementing Share Function With Friends?

Steam might allow you to share games with your friends. First spotted by NeoGAF user Grief.exe has revealed a string of codes that clearly tells about a “shared game library”.

  • “SteamUI_JoinDialog_SharedLicense_Title” “Shared game library”
  • “SteamUI_JoinDialog_SharedLicenseLocked_OwnerText” “Just so you know, your games are currently in use by %borrower%. Playing now will send %borrower% a notice that it’s time to quit.”
  • “SteamUI_JoinDialog_SharedLicenseLocked_BorrowerText” “This shared game is currently unavailable. Please try again later or buy this game for your own library.”

The code clearly hints at the possibility to lend games to friends, and reclaim them whenever suitable. Currently Steam games are tied to your account. You’re unable to  trade it in, sell it or lend it like you could a physical console game, and certain PC games.
