State Of Decay’s First Patch Isn’t Working

State Of Decay's First Patch Isn't Working

The first patch for State Of Decay is not, well, working. The issues supposedly being addressed by the patch have not been fixed. Some people are reporting a success when it comes to the patch, but the majority reports no difference. Developer Undead Labs has found the problem and issued a statement which can be seen below.

“First, I want to apologize. This is not acceptable, and you deserve better than this.

Second, we’re on the phone with our publisher right now getting everyone mobilized. There’s nothing we can do at UL to fix this problem. Once the update has been handed off, the process of getting it to you is something only the Xbox people can handle. So, we’re calling in the troops to get going on solving this problem immediately.

Third, although we can’t directly fix the problem, you are OUR players, and we’d like you to know we’re exploring ways to express our appreciation for your patience.

In the meantime, see “first.”

I wanted to let you know what was going on as soon as we had it nailed down. We don’t have an ETA on a solution (see “second”). Stay tuned for more information as we get it.”

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain to Have Less Cutscenes

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain to Have Less Cutscenes

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will reportedly have less cutscenes than previous games.

“I’m sure you’re worried about if the cutscenes are as long as Metal Gear Solid 4,” Hideo Kojima said during an E3 roundtable, reported by IGN. He said it will have “less cutscenes [than before]“ due to the open world environment. Exploring the world means less opportunities for the control to be taken from the players.

”If you think of Metal Gear Solids 1-4 as movies,” Kojima said, “[The Phantom Pain] is going to be like a TV series with episodes.” All of the episodes together form the cohesive whole of the story.

Metal Gear Solid V Comes With User-Created Missions, “Vast” Multiplayer

Metal Gear Solid V Comes With User-Created Missions, "Vast" Multiplayer

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will come with support for user-created missions and an online component. Hideo Kojima spoke about this both at E3 and to CVG. Speaking to the latter, Kojima talked about the game’s open-world and how he  wanted “to make sure that we were doing the most difficult and challenging thing.” He also discussed the use of devices such as tablets and smartphones.

“Using tablets and smart phones you can also enjoy Metal Gear Solid V and create user-generated missions within the world,” Kojima said. “That’s another reason we had to go open-world—if it was linear we wouldn’t be able to do that.”

The game’s online component is in development at Kojima Productions Los Angeles in co-operation with the Tokyo team. “We’re working closely to create a vast multiplayer for all the fans,” he said.

Metal Gear Solid 5′s Next-Gen Versions Looks Better Than E3 Trailers?

Metal Gear Solid 5's Next-Gen Versions Looking Better Than E3 Trailers?

Hideo Kojima aims to make Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain‘s next-gen versions better than the E3 trailers.

“For this project we were using the PC to build the Fox Engine to create our game,” Kojima explained in an interview at E3 today. “We’re using the current-generation as a [guideline]. While we were developing on current-gen, next-gen came long. We’re really trying to reach the peak of the current generation right now — 360, PS3 — and then see how much we can take it up for the next-generation.”

”Once we start going into development for next-generation we’re definitely looking for something better than [what] we have shown today,” he said. Kojima added that the developer is aiming for a 60 FPS and a higher resolution for the game’s Xbox One and PlayStation 4 releases.

We can also look forward to  interactivity with smartphones and tablets. ”You can also enjoy the game with multiple devices,” he said, so players can “enjoy [Metal Gear Solid 5] from anywhere at any time.”

With MGS5, I feel that [using] multiple devices, tablets and smartphones and how to interact with it socially is a big step forward.”

The E3 trailer for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain has been released alongside screenshots.  The release of the game will happen to PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360.  The open-world game features  real-time weather, realistic passage, and a variety of ways to navigate in the environment. We see a return of characters such as  Snake, Kazuhira Miller, Ocelot, and Emmerich. New characters will be introduced as well.

The storyline focuses on a hero’s fall from grace. We get to see dark themes that portray the ugliness and tragedy of war. It does sound like Hideo Kojima‘s darkest work yet.
