However, if you’ve previously purchased the game, you can of course re-download it. You can’t actually purchase it, though. The reason for the down taking is currently unknown. Vigil Games were not sold during THQ‘s auction, nor was the Darksiders franchise. So it’s quite possible it has something to do with that or licensing, possibly.
As of now, THQ is still looking for a new owner to both the studio and the franchise.
The PS3 version of Darksiders II will get a patch.
The patch will be of the size 33 MB and fixes a lot of bugs, and may even prepare the game for upcoming DLCs.
Bug fixes and more can be found below:
- A few crashes in Blackstone, including at the 2nd lever and during the Lilith cut-scene.
- A crash occurring when proceeding back to the Cauldron after completing it.
- The Custodian falling through the bridge in the Foundry when back-tracking through the dungeon.
- Spanish sub titles will be added to the North America version of Darksiders II.
- Players will be able to back up their save without having to use an online save
- Various fixes for the custodian getting fixed in the Foundry and the Scar
- Progression blocker with the Chancellor, reported after crashing or doing the Crucible before going to the land of the dead.
- Turning in 3 Stones of resistance awards the player properly.
- Improved general stability
The bugs in Darksiders II will be fixed soon.
According to a post on the official website, the developers are working on fixing various bugs, both on the console and on PC.
We are working on fixes for a number of bugs which can potentially block progression that have come to our attention, while also exploring adding additional features you have been asking for. This work includes vsync updates, improved shadow map resolution, X-axis options and additional keyboard mapping options (amongst other community requests). We hope to roll out a number of patches to address these issues in the weeks to come.
A small number of our players on Xbox 360 and PS3 have informed us that they encountered bugs, which can potentially block progression while playing the game. We are investigating and working on fixes for the issues that we are aware of and hope to release them as soon as we can. We have prioritized addressing these issues but please be aware the approval process for patches can take a little while. We would like to thank you for your patience.
The final trailer for Darksiders II has been released.
In the gameplay trailer, Death explains why he embarked upon his quest, and who should steer clear of his path. An excerpt of the monologue:
“My brother War stands falsely accused of unleashing Armageddon upon the human race. His fate concerns me; yours does not.”
This trailer will be the last one until the game’s released on August 14th.
Darksiders II will be getting a new difficulty level, Nightmare mode.
To unlock this difficulty level you need to have completed the main game. Additionally, if you die when playing in nightmare mode, you will lose all your progress. There are exceptions though, such as falling deaths or getting killed by lava will not erase your saves.
Darksiders II has had a new trailer streamed.
The trailer is appropriately named “The Last Sermon“.
In the game we’ll play one of the four horsemen, just like we did in the first game. Unlike in the original game, we won’t be playing as war, but instead we’ll play as death. The trailer below is the cut one, but if you go to Darksiders 2′s official Facebook page you can see the uncut one. I might as well save you the disappointment with saying that the uncut one isn’t a whole different from the cut one, there’s just a bit more of the sermon part. The man playing the priest is James Cosmo.
