Vivendi owns 61 per cent of the shares in Activision, and they’re rumored to be selling them.

It was Bloomberg that reported this news, and it should be said that nothing has been confirmed. According to said site, an anonymous insider revealed that if no buyer will step forward to buy the 61 per cent, worth $8.1 billion, the shares will be sold in the stock market.

In addition to this, Vivendi’s chairman, Jean-Rene Fourtou is under pressure from various investors due to a continuous nine-year low. Apparently he has to boost the stock price and restructure the company.

As of now, Vivendi hasn’t commented on the accuracy of this rumor.
