Take-Two‘s CEO has denied that GTA 5 will be arriving on next-gen consoles.
In a financial call, CEO Strauss Zelnick, said that Take-Two’s next-gen release plan does not include GTA 5. The company has an “extensive pipeline of unannounced titles.” Furthermore, Zelnick does not believe that the game budgets will skyrocket to the new consoles. All of the upcoming projects will include these four important requirements: “strong owned intellectual property, strong creative teams in-house, strong technology, and a strong balance sheet.”
This was Zelnick’s statement regarding GTA 5 potentially being released to next-gen consoles:
“There is not one gamer who is going to sit out of GTA V hoping that something that is going to come along down the road that’s better. It’s going to blow everyone away, and it’s going to be in the market in September.”
GTA 5′s release date has been set to September 17th, 2013.
