Bad Habit Games to Get a Tattoo if Their Kickstarter Campaign Is Successful
Austrian indie developer Bad Habit Games will tattoo a Starbattle motive on themselves if the Kickstarter funding for the game is successful.
“The idea of Starbattle has been with me my entire life – why not pay permanent tribute to it, if it becomes a success story?” says Markus Haschny, Programmer at Bad Habit Games.
So what is Starbattle? According to themselves, Starbattle is “a skill-based, 2D multiplayer action game. The player takes control over one of four stars and tries to gain upper hand in battle. Add a huge collection of perfectly interfering items and hostile battle areas to the mix and you get old school competition at its finest.”
The game will not be using the free-to-play model. You pay once, and then you can play whenever you want.
“We are gamers and want to make games we would play ourselves.” explains Philipp Kock, Designer at Bad Habit Games. “We don’t want to sit lurking behind every corner; ready to snatch the gamer’s money!”
The game in itself is about four different stars which battle each other for their place in the universe. The stars use plasma shots to defeat the other three stars. These shots comes out stars jags clock-wisely. You have to wait until the shot you fired is destroyed until you can fire a new one. The stars also utilize a type melee combat which involves them spinning and bumping into an opponent.
Controlling the star, your job is to battle out in stunning battle arenas studded with walls, spikes, doors, exploding barrels and much more. There’s many items such as speed up, fire shot, invulnerable or camouflage which all might help you gain the upper hand. A total of 2-4 plays will be able to simultaneously battle out on the screen. You will be able to create your own server and play with friends over it, or you can just play over a local network. Your achievements in the game will be tracked by a global leaderboard.
Bad Habit Games consists of two men based in Vienna, Austria. The studio was founded in 2013 by Markus Haschny and Philipp Kock. Both of them have been working in the gaming industry for several years. As previously stated, Markus is responsible for engine, network and tool programming. Philipp is responsible for game design, gameplay scripting and particle creation.
