Funcom’s Beijing Studio Shuts Down

Funcom has laid off employees over at its Beijing studio.

The studio mainly focused on developing art and animation for The Secret World. The layoffs are not a big surprise per say, as we’ve known about Funcom’s plans to shut down various studios for quite some time.

The plan is to create a centralized team in North Carolina. The studio will then focus on development of The Secret World, Age of Conan, and Anarchy Online. According to Game Spot, the HQ will now house community, customer service, operations, and quality assurance teams alongside the developers.
