New information regarding the next-generation consoles have been leaked for a few months now. Next in line after Xbox 720‘s specs were leaked is the PS4. CVG posted a list of the things we can look forward to with the new console:
- System Memory: 8GB
- Video Memory: 2.2 GB
- CPU: 4x Dual-Core AMD64 “Bulldozer” (so, 8x cores)
- GPU: AMD R10xx
- Ports: 4x USB 3.0, 2x Ethernet
- Drive: Blu-Ray
- HDD: 160GB
- Audio Output: HDMI & Optical, 2.0, 5.1 & 7.1 channels
We previously covered the rumors that Sony would abandon the DualShock 3 controllers in favor of something a bit more experimental. Further information states that the controller will, “retain the four traditional face buttons, two analogue sticks and shoulder triggers of older PlayStation pads, as well as vibration and improved motion-sensing.” Some of the more experimental parts of the controller is the touch pad, just like the ones we found on the back of the PS Vita. We may also see a “share” button, although the button’s purpose is not entirely clear. Furthermore, you will also be able to “click” the controller to make an additional input.
Last but not least, the new account for the PS4 will apparently support, ”multi-user simultaneous logins”. Basically it means you and a friend can log into two accounts on one console, making it possible for both of you to earn achievements in co-op at the same time.

I was a bit concerned when I first heard about the new console, but it seems Sony is on the right track with a whole bunch of things. I really like the idea with the multi-user logins.
