Ubisoft Looking to Acquire THQ

One of the forerunners in the battle to acquire THQ is apparently  Ubisoft.

Ubisoft is interested in purchasing the publisher’s brands and studios as soon as they have worked through their financial issues. So far there’s been no real word when the acquisition might take place, and some speculate that Ubisoft will keep THQ hanging until they’re forced to sell out for a lower price than what’s being proposed now.

We previously reported that THQ filed for bankruptcy, but that no games currently in development will be scrapped. Apparently there will be no layoffs either, so that’s fortunate.
