Square Enix’s L.A. Office Lays Off Employees

Square Enix‘s L.A office has been hit with layoffs.

Game Informer reports that the staff released were mostly from its online operations, games such as Wakfu and the relaunch of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn are included.

The layoffs have been confirmed, although it has been stated that no upcoming projects will be affected. A statement was released as well:

In order to ensure it is operating effectively, the Square Enix Los Angeles office has reduced its workforce. This was a difficult decision and we wish the best for those affected by these changes. The decision will not have any impact on the operations of MMO titles. Customers can expect those services to continue, including the upcoming launch of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.
