Mass Effect Facebook Page Attacked Due to Shooting in Connecticut

Facebook users recently attacked the official Facebook page for Mass Effect.

This is due to the media’s misidentifying of a user who liked the game’s page on Facebook. The misidentified suspect,  Ryan Lanza, is not the same man who shot and killed 26 people at a Connecticut elementary school. Lanza is, however, the brother of Adam Lanza, which is the real suspect. The latter was found dead at the crime scene.

Many people have voiced their anger over the situation, and fans of the game has both corrected the posts and defended the Mass Effect franchise. Below you can find some of the comments left on the Facebook page, copied by Mashable.

As sad as this may be, I don’t believe a game in itself makes you a killer. You need to be quite wacko in the head already to even consider to kill people.
