Many people complain that today’s games are lacking in some areas. They always refer back to the time before 00′s and vocalize that it was better in the past. Games have, and always will, come with both the good ones and the bad ones.
My first recommendation is Theme Hospital. I used to play this a lot when I was a kid. I never really understood what I was doing, or why I was shooting mice, but it was all good fun. What was even more fun was that the assistant, or whatever he/she was, used to call out on my cheating. Yes, I cheated even before I turned eight. I can’t really say when I started playing the game, saying I started playing it when I was three may be a stretch, but it wasn’t far off.
The game was released in 1997 for the first time, then released in Europe in 1998.
Theme Hospital is a simulation at its finest. You’re the CEO of a hospital and it’s your job to make sure it runs smoothly. The difficulty and requirements to pass to a new level continuously increases until you realize this game doesn’t want you to succeed. It’s not easy running a hospital with patients running around vomiting all over the place. It’s actually quite stressful.
The game is really fun and I suggest you give it a try. For more information, you may want to read this Wikipedia article about it. Oh and if you wish to buy it, simply visit gog.com which sells it for a few dollars.
