It’s the fifth birthday for Hatsune Miku, the Vocaloid idol. Now, according to Gigazine, Sony will be selling three limited-edition Hastune Miku 5th Anniversary models of its Walkman S series in Japan.
The three models will becoming in blue, blue or blue with external speakers. Miku will be etched on the back with a wallpaper screen for the menu. Miku’s song, “Hoshi no Kakera” will be preinstalled on the device and will include an original neck strap. Each model will only have 3,939 serial-numbered units. The number is based on the Japanese pronunciation of “39″ as “miku”.
The units will go on sale exclusively on Sony’s online shop and in three physical Sony stores in mid-August. They will be retailing for 12,800 ($164 US) without the external speakers and 15,800 ($202 US) wit the speakers.
