Dead Island 2 is not in the making.
According to Game Spot, Yager Development, the studio which were rumoured to be working on the sequel to Dead Island, is in fact not doing so. This comes from a development director Guido Eickmeyer, who works with Dead Island‘s original publisher, Deep Silver.
Eickmeyer said the following to discredit the rumours:
“We are neither working with Yager on Dead Island 2 nor do we have any contractual agreement with Yager about any project at this point”.
However, the said spokesman also went on with saying that a collaboration with Yager Development might happen in the future. Even so, Deep Silver got no plans on making a sequel as of yet. Granted, it is currently being taken into consideration so it’s possible that it will happen in the future.
