Guilty Gear Xrd: Sign from Arc System Works is being considered for next-gen consoles. The game was previously announced for Japanese arcades.

“Currently, we are brainstorming,” Arc System Works president Minoru Kidooka told Siliconera at E3. “Guilty Gear Xrd is a title we’re considering to bring to the next generation.”

Nintendo Reveals Free-to-Play Steel Diver

Nintendo has revealed their first free-to-play title to be Steel Diver

“There is something we’re doing with the Steel Diver idea that I think is going to open things up with that game… It’s going to be very fun. We’re exploring from a perspective of where we can take that from a multiplayer standpoint – it’s going to have this four-player battle mode that I think is going to be very interesting,“ Nintendo executive Shigeru Miyamoto revealed to IGN.

“It’s something that we’re hoping to be able to show relatively soon,” Miyamoto concluded.

The game will changed accordingly to fit the free-to-play model, but an actual platform was not stated.

Lenovo Reveals 15-inch ThinkPad S531 Ultrabook

Lenovo has revealed their 15-inch ThinkPad S531 Ultrabook. The Windows 8 laptop comes with a 15.6-inch, lay-flat LCD and a large keyboard. The ThinkPad features  Lenovo OneLink technology which allows for easy connection to the  ThinkPad OneLink Dock using only a single cable for  dedicated video, additional USB 3.0 ports and gigabit Ethernet, all while powering the system.

The device is powered with an Intel 3rd generation Core with up to nine hours of battery life.  With the possibility to have 10GB of memory and 500 GB of storage. The press release mentions that  10GB model (2GB soldered + 8GB in slot) will be available with Full HD only in July.

The price for the laptop is £575 (exc VAT).

Capcom senior VP Christian Svensson said on the Capcom Unity forums that Deep Down is unrelated to Dragon’s Dogma, despite previous belief.  The official quote is:

“[Dead Rising 3] and Deep Down have nothing to do with Dragon’s Dogma”.

More details surrounding the game has not been released as of yet.

Crunchyroll Streaming Oreimo 2 OVA Episodes This August

Crunchyroll will be streaming Oreimo 2‘s OVA this coming August. The 3 OVA episodes will be limited to a 2-week engagement from the 17th to the 31st. Those members with a premium membership will be able to view the episodes immediately.  The free users will be able to view the episodes one week afterwards.

The downside is that the episodes will be available for viewing for all countries except for these: Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, France, Switzerland, Belgium, Algeria, Monaco, and Tunisia.

The synopsis for the show can be found below:

“Kyousuke Kousaka is a high schooler who has been leading a quiet, humdrum life. However, his life is turned upside-down when his little sister, Kirino, comes to him for ‘life counseling.’ It turns out that Kirino, a well-rounded winner in life, has many otaku-ish hobbies and loves anime and games. Kyousuke sincerely takes on Kirino’s request to tackle life counseling.

Kyary Pamyu Pamyu Providing Song for Star Trek Film in Japan

Popular Japanese model and singer Kyary Pamyu Pamyu will be singing a song featured in the Japanese release of Star Trek Into Darkness. Songwriter and DJ Yasutaka Nakata will be writing the song titled “Into Darkness“. The insert song will be used in a club scene in the film.

The man behind the film, J.J. Abrams, has chosen top artists from six different countries to be featured in various versions of the film. Abrams himself is working alongside the artists.

Paramount Pictures Japan will be distributing the film in Japanese theaters on August 23rd.

EA Lays Off Even More Staff

EA has made cuts to its internal analysis and reviews team. The staff are responsible for “Metacritic trends and offering up critical response before titles get in the hands of journalists.” The first word of layoffs came from  Kat Bailey, a games research analyst, via her twitter. The tweet was later on deleted.

Metal Max 4: Moonlight Diva Announced for 3DS

Metal Max 4: Moonlight Diva is basically a “Mad Max role playing game with vehicle combat.” The series takes place in a post apocalyptic world  with an open ended gameplay and combat dogs.  The game drops this Fall for Nintendo 3DS.  Kadokawa Games will be publishing the title.
